LINDA DIANE VAN DAMME 59 of Columbus Township, formerly of Chesterfield Township died unexpectedly on February 11, 2008 in Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Mrs. VanDamme was born February 13, 1948 in Mount Clemens, Michigan to the late Clyde and Patricia (Hare) Longton. She married Michael VanDamme in Macomb Township on January 21, 1976. Linda graduated from New Haven High School in 1966 and went on to study to be a medical receptionist. She enjoyed gardening and spending much of her time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Michael, sons, Michael of Columbus, Brian (Robin) of CT., Scott (Deanne Miller) of Columbus and Gregg (Elizabeth) of Columbus, siblings, Nancy Carr of Casco, Kathy (Ray) Colosimo of Clarkston, Patrick (June) Longton of Florida and grandchildren, Michael III, Daniel, Gregg, Scott, Brian, Heather, Hailey and Carlie. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Longton. Visitation will be Thursday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home. A prayer service will be at 6pm with the Reverend John Mack officiating. Cremation will follow. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Michigan Diabetes Association.
