Leonard Kallen

Leonard Kallen, 82, of Columbus, passed away peacefully at his home with family at his bedside, Wednesday, May 4, 2016. Loving husband of Marie Bielecki. Caring father of Keith (Sandy) and Kevin Kallen, Toni (Steve) Dreiseszun, Rachel (Scott) and Annie (Adam) Zmija. Step father of Laura (Joe) Widzinski, Vincent (Judy), Benny (Cindy), David (Teri) and Paul (Mickey) Bielecki. Special grandfather of Becca (Todd), John, Jeffrey, Jacob, Katie, Jessica, Spencer, Lucy, Mary, Aaron, Madeline, Philip (Julie), Janine, Jacob, Eric, Amanda, Natalie, Sarah, Emily, Susie and Henry. Great grandfather of Carson, Nolan and Jase. He is also survived by his siblings Thomas (Noreen) Hodor and Barbara (Brian) Kasper. Preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children Bernadine Kallen and brother Frank (Rosemarie) Kay. Leonard loved reading historical fiction, traveling, mowing the lawn on his tractor, golf, bowling and crossword puzzles. He was in the Richmond Community Choir, a lector at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Hamtramck and St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond. Visitation will be 2:00 - 9:00 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 9, at Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond 48062. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass, Tuesday, May 10, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 68035 Main St, Richmond 48062. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
