Laurie Jo Abt, age 58, died on December 24, 2015 at her home in Richmond, Michigan. She battled two types of cancer for the last year. Laurie was born on September 30, 1957, in Des Monies, Iowa and was the daughter of Lawrence and Ann Angell of Iowa. Laurie thoroughly enjoyed her dog Miss Gray. She also had opening arms for whoever walked into her life. Laurie was loved and adored by many. She was a mother to many in each branch of the military.
Laurie is preceded in death by her mother Ann Angell, and her father Lawrence Angell. She is survived by her two sisters Angell (Allen) Chesbro of Palmyra, Pennsylvania, Alice (Correll) Angell-Collins of Tulsa, Oklahoma, her brother Leo (Shirley) Angell of Oden, Arkansas. Her son's Jason (Ashley) Abt of Viroqua, Wisconsin, David (Renee) Abt of Lawtons, New York, Michael (Samantha) Abt of Warren, Michigan, and James Abt of Richmond, Michigan. Also her grandchildren Carrie, Corey, Issac, Karlee, Alyssa, Madison, Wyatt, and 1 year old Hannah. And many aunts, uncles, cousins, and adopted sons and daughters.
Visitation will be held on December 29, 2015 from 3pm to 9pm at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home in Richmond, Michigan.
Funeral service will be held on December 30, 2015 at 11am at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home.
