Karin Carlson

Karin Therese Carlson, 64, of Columbus Twp. died Friday, January 28, 2011 in her home after an extended illness. She was born October 1, 1946 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan to the late Orville and Clara (Golem) Carlson. She worked as a nurse's aide for thirty-five years and was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond. Karin was a long-term caregiver for a special friend, "Bicycle" Bob Ottenbacher and enjoyed buying "fun" educational toys for her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her brothers Harold and Donna Carlson of Columbus Twp. and John and Mary Jo Carlson of Columbus Twp., sister Anna and James Bryer of Parma, MI, eleven nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brothers Francis and Clyde Carlson and nephew Cole Carlson. A funeral Mass will be Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Augustine Catholic Church, Richmond. Rev. Joseph Plawecki will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michaels Cemetery, Richmond. Visitation will be Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Tuesday from 10 to 10:30 in the church. A scripture service will be Monday at 6:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be directed for Masses or to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
