June Gillis

JUNE ROSE GILLIS age 86 a forty year resident of Ira Township died Tuesday, January 30, 2007 in her home after and extended illness. Mrs. Gillis was born June 25, 1920 in Painesdale, Michigan to the late Thomas and Elsie (Maltz) Chapman. She married Ralph Gillis in Bowling Green, Ohio in 1948. Mr. Gillis died January 24, 1990. June was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, crocheting, bird watching but mostly spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Brian and Renee Gillis of Algonac, Mark and Deborah Gillis of Richmond, Virginia, Margaret (Peg) and Len Briskey of Ira Township and David and Carol Gillis of Chesterfield; siblings, Robert Chapman of Ontonogon, MI. and Charlotte McManus of Calgary, Alberta Canada, grandchildren, Brandy Hranch, Rocky Gillis, Shawn Prazeres, Matthew Gillis, Thomas Briskey and Amy Miller and her great-grandson, Ian Briskey. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her siblings, Charles and Carol Chapman. Cremation arrangements were handled by Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond.
