Joyce H. Okalski

JOYCE HAZEL OKALSKI age 77, a fifty year resident of Lenox Township died in her home on Thursday, December 31, 2009. Mrs. Okalski was born January 12, 1932 in New Haven, Michigan to the late, John and Thelma (Wright) Daunt. She married Martin Okalski in Richmond on February 27, 1954. Mr. Okalski died November 30, 2008. Joyce was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond. She worked as a waitress at the Richmond Coney Island, Mickey's Dutch Pantry and the Richmond Hotel. Her greatest joy was spending time with her three granddaughters. She is survived by her daughters, Denise Brown of Lenox Township and Tricia McPherson of Richmond, granddaughters, Tasha Brown and Lindsey and Secily McPherson and siblings, Jean (Larry) John of Lenox, Janet (Donald) Pietrykowski of St. Clair, Joanne Dalton of Lenox and Judy (Harry) Isascs of Fair Haven. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her sisters, Geraldine Hood and June Kovich and brother-in-law, Thomas Dalton. A funeral service will be on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 11:00am in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Elder, Sally Hager of the Community of Christ Church in Richmond will officiate. Visiting will be Sunday from 2 to 8pm and Monday from 10 to 11 am in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Foundation.
