Joseph Edward Burkhart

Joseph Edward Burkhart, 77, of Richmond, passed away at Medilodge of Richmond Monday, January 23, 2023. Joe was born October 25, 1945, the son of Charles and Wanda Burkhart. Joe is survived by his companion, Karen Eltringham, children, Brett Burkhart, Bethany (Joe) Burkhart-Edelen, Erin (Ashley) Eltringham-Earl, Brian (Jen) Eltringham and Chris Eltringham, grandchildren, Madison, Haley, Dru, Sebastian, Samuel, Talia, Tia, Tristin, Cooper and Marisa, siblings, Sandra Thomas-Warner, Kathy Dosch, Betsie (Todd) Miller, Eric Burkhart and Jeff Burkhart. He is preceded in death by his children, Wade Burkhart and Heather Burkhart, siblings Phillip Burkhart, John Burkhart and Charles Burkhart III. Joe was very active at the First United Church of Christ and loved going to his grandchildren’s activities and sporting events. He also enjoyed going to the movies, playing euchre and going to flea markets.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Service at the First United Church of Christ, 68651 S Forest Ave, Richmond, MI 48062.
