JOHNNY GENE KOVICH age 60, a lifelong area resident died Wednesday, January 5, 2011 in his home after a brief illness. Mr. Kovich was born June 24, 1950 in Mount Clemens Michigan to the late Peter and June (Daunt) Kovich. He graduated from New Haven High School in 1969 and retired in 2001 from Chrysler Corporation after serving thirty-one years as a paint taper. He was a member of the U.A.W. local #140. He was an avid snowmobiler and enjoyed being up north and fishing. He is survived by his son, John Jr. of Richmond, longtime companion, Candy Blankenship, Candy's son, George Blankenship of Harrison Twp., siblings, Paulette Bushman of Waterford, Jimmy Kovich of Macomb Co., Penny (Rod Carter) Baltierra of IL. and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Peter Kovich in 2009 and Candy's son, Joe Blankenship in 2009. A funeral service will be on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 10:00am in Rewalt Funeral Home,
Richmond. Priest, Joann Dalton, John's aunt of the Community of Christ Church in Richmond will officiate. Burial will be in the Prestonville
Cemetery in Shelby Township. Visiting will be on Friday from 3 to 9pm and Saturday from 9 to 10am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
