John Tonkovich, 88, of Richmond, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Medilodge of Richmond. John was born August 4, 1932 to the late John and Anna Tonkovich. Cherished husband of Judith Tonkovich; loving father of Connie Fidler (Randy), Martin (Pam) Tonkovich, Robert (Rachel) Kaatz, Randy (Tammy) Kaatz, Rochelle (Mark) Hutcheson, Rory (Debbie) Kaatz, Renee (Dan) Sparby and Rhonda (Ken) Hutchins; caring grandfather of Tina (Ken) Precour, Matthew Tonkovich, Bob (Debbie) and David (Kelly) Demo, Tracy (Philip) Pack, Adrian (Tim) Gabriel, Garrett (Hailey) Hutcheson, Holly (Doug Cozby) Hutcheson, Eric (Cherrie) Sparby, Sarah (Drew Durdik) Sparby, Kelly Sparby, Kevin (Courtney), Kristie and Derek Hutchins; great grandfather of 17. John was a truck driver for Weeks Food Corp for 20 years then worked at General Motors before retiring. John loved to drive up by the Blue Water Bridge, camping, old cars, music and listening to Lawrence Welk. John’s favorite passed time was eating Judy’s cooking.
Visitation will be 3:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. with a visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Service, Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 35110 Division Rd, Richmond, MI 48062.
