John A. Boyd

JOHN ARNOLD BOYD age 77 of Columbus Township died unexpectedly on October 15, 2010 in his home. Mr. Boyd was born June 27, 1933 to the late Ralph and Pearl (Etner) Boyd. He married Mary JoAnn Ward in Richmond on July 2, 1960. Mrs. Boyd died September 6, 2007. John graduated from Richmond High School in 1951 and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a draftsman at Liberty Engineering and Pioneer Engineering in Troy, MI. John liked to garden, watch wildlife and follow all sport teams especially the mighty Spartans of Michigan State. He is survived by his sons, Thomas and Becky of Rochester, Dennis and Sue of Casco, Brian and Sue of Casco and Gary and Kelly of Richmond, his sister Beverly Wilson of Rochester and twelve grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, October 19th at 10:00am in Holy Family Parish, All Saints Catholic Church in Memphis. Reverend Joseph Horn, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in St. Philip Neri Cemetery in Columbus Township. Visiting will be on Sunday from 5 to 8pm and Monday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home in Richmond and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10am in the church. A rosary will be recited on Monday at 6:30pm led by Father Janusz Marzynski in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
