Joel David Jozwiak
April 19, 1971 — July 15, 2018
Joel David Jozwiak, 47, of Columbus, died unexpectedly Sunday, July 15, 2018. Joel was born April 19, 1971 to Jerome and Jeanette Jozwiak. Beloved husband of Jennifer Jozwiak; caring father of Jaelyn and Jake Jozwiak. Also, survived by his siblings Jeffrey (Brenda) Jozwiak, Jeannine Dotson, James (Judi) Jozwiak, Jill (Steven) Crandall, Jay (Danielle) Jozwiak, brother-in-law James (Inge) McClellan and many nieces and nephews. Joel was a member of the Knights of Columbus Au Lac Council 10724. He was an outdoorsman that enjoyed golfing, fishing and boating. He was an avid sports fan that liked to watch Tiger baseball, Nascar and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Joel and Jenny were high school sweethearts who met at age 17. People often chuckled as Joel and Jenny liked to take things slow. They married after 10 years of dating, and started their family 9 years after that. Joel planned a surprise marriage proposal on a trip to Myrtle Beach that coincidentally took place under pier 14. Their first home was on 14 Mile Rd.
Joel worked many years in the tent rental industry and in 2005 decided to start his own tent rental business, Ameri-tent. He worked hard to provide for his family. Joel was a dedicated hard worker, who was loved by all that met him. Joel brought fun and laughter to all who knew him, as he was truly a kid at heart.
God was present as Joel took his last breath after Pastor read from the gospel John chapter 14.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. with a visitation from 10:30 until the time of service Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church, 9764 Dixie Hwy, Ira Twp., MI 48023
