Joanne "Joan" Beland

JOANNE "JOAN" BELAND age 78 of Richmond died Tuesday, November 23, 2010 in her home after an extended illness. Mrs. Beland was born January 27, 1932 in Detroit to the late Benno and Elizabeth (Stevens) Friese. She married Harry Beland in Detroit on January 21, 1950. Mr. Beland died in 1985. Joan was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond and enjoyed bowling and going to the casinos. She is survived by her children, David of AZ., Scott of Oscoda, Todd (Julie) of Oscoda, Julie (Darrell) West of FL., Lynn Beltowski of Richmond and Lori (Richard) Sanders of Macomb, nineteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald and Dale Friese. A funeral Mass will be on Monday, November 29, 2010 at 10:00am in St. Augustine Church. Reverend Joseph Plawecki, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the Pinecrest Cemetery in Oscoda. Visiting will be on Sunday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home and Monday from 9:30 to 10am in the church. A scripture rosary will be recited on Sunday at 6:30pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association, Diabetes Association or the wishes of the family.
