Joann F. Schubert

JOANN F. SCHUBERT age 58, a lifelong resident of Richmond died Tuesday, October 6, 2009 in Henry Ford Macomb Hospital after an extended illness. Mrs. Schubert was born September 17, 1951 in Mount Clemens, MI. to Stanley and Genevieve (Olewnicki) Wroblewski. She graduated from Richmond High School in 1969, earned her teaching degree from Oakland University in 1973 and her Masters degree in 1981. She married Daniel Schubert in Richmond on October 5, 1974. For the past thirty-three years, Joann taught English at Eisenhower High School in Shelby Township. She was a life member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond where she served as organist for many years and member of the altar sodality. She was a member of the A.D.K. teacher's organization in Richmond and enjoyed reading, dancing and playing the piano. She is survived by her husband, Daniel, children, Julie and Daniel Schubert both of Richmond, mother, Genevieve Wroblewski of Lenox, sister and brother-in-law, Geralyn and Paul Lemanski of Ypsilanti, father-in-law, Martin Schubert of Richmond and nephews, Tim, Jeff and Mark Lemanski of Ypsilanti. She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Wroblewski on July 23, 2002 and her mother-in-law, Maybelle Schubert on March 1, 1995. A funeral service will be Saturday, October 10th at 10:45am in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond followed by a Mass at St. Augustine Church at 11:30am. Monsignor George Browne will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Richmond. Visiting will be on Thursday and Friday from 3 to 8pm and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45am in the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Richmond Lions Club, St. Augustine Church or the wishes of the family.
