Jenette Emily Schweiger, 85, a lifelong resident of Richmond, died Friday, February 9, 2007, in St. Joseph Medical Center, Clinton Township after a brief illness. Mrs. Schweiger was born August 13, 1921 in Detroit to the late William and Hedwig (Polmanski) Olewnicki. She married Louie Schweiger in Richmond on July 7, 1945. She worked for many years at Mt. Clemens Pottery, Appetizing Foods in Richmond, and IGA bakery. Cooking and baking for her family and friends was her passion. The all-time "favorites" were her homemade paczki, cinnamon rolls and danish. Her freezer was always full of goodies ready to be handed out to the next visitor to Louie and Em's home. Louie and Emily enjoyed many years of camping and polka and square dancing. She is survived by her children, David and Ann Schweiger of Clinton Township and Kaye and Phillip Bryan of New Baltimore, sisters Genevieve Wroblewski and Virginia Szymanowski of Richmond, grandchildren: Maria (Jeff) White, Kathryn (Steve) Reaume, and Elizabeth (fiancé Joe Pretzer), Mary, and Paul Schweiger, and 12 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Louie on December 23, 2006 and by her sister Helen Gutt. A funeral Mass will be Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Augustine Catholic Church, Richmond. Rev. Joseph Plawecki will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michaels Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6:30 to 9 and Tuesday from 3 to 9 in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Wednesday from 10 to 10:30 in the church. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7:30 in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Augustine alter sodality window fund.
