Jeffrey George Novak
January 22, 1959 — May 24, 2020
Jeffrey Novak, 61, of Richmond, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Sunday, May 24, 2020 after being diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer just two weeks prior to his passing. Jeff was born January 22, 1959 to the late John and Nancy Novak. Jeff is survived by his children, Jillian (Anthony) Harmer and Jeffrey (Alyssa Varcally) Novak Jr., and brothers, Tom (Samantha) and John (Vicki) Novak. He was preceded in death by his brother, Scott Novak.
Jeff enjoyed playing keno, pull tabs, and scratch offs, and was a staple at J.J. Knapp's where he could be found in "his spot" with a tall vodka diet loaded with ice in hand. Throughout his life, Jeff was an avid University of Michigan Football fan who enjoyed playing football and softball, golfing, fishing, watching sports, old westerns, NASCAR, and playing horseshoes. He ran the Richmond Good Old Days Festival Horseshoe Tournaments for many years. Jeff was a charter member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Richmond Lodge #2575, where he was a 3rd Degree member for the past 20 years. He worked at American Energy Services in Richmond for 36 years. Jeff loved spending time with his kids, his American Energy Family, his Knapp's family, and the many friends that he considered family.
Visitation will be 3:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2020 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until Service time Friday, May 29, 2020 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062.
Jeff was a down to earth guy and was always dressed in jeans, a t-shirt and flannel, and his U of M hat. Per his wishes, casual attire is requested for his visitation and Funeral Service.
