JANET L. MORAN 75 of Richmond Township died Friday, February 25, 2011 in Medilodge of Yale after a brief illness. Mrs. Moran was born September 12, 1935 in Detroit to the late Frank and Ivy (Kershaw) Hartz. She married James B. Moran in Detroit on September 14, 1957. Mr. Moran died November 16, 1996. Janet graduated from Denby High School in Detroit and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Emmett. She owned and operated Stagecoach Arabian Stables in Richmond for over thirty years and was a member of the Michigan Arabian Horse Association. She was active in her church and was known for her talents of sewing custom riding attire. Her children will always remember their fabulous Halloween costumes she made them. She is survived by her children; Michael Moran of Fort Gratiot, Brian and Judy Moran of East Lansing and Pamela and Dean Thompson of Memphis, grandchildren, Nick, Jordan and Miranda Samson, Alexandria Moran, Cory and Brad Thompson and Gabrielle and Emma Moran, great-grandchildren, Addison, Cooper, Max, Mia and Luca, and sisters-in-law Justine Raymond and Delores Hartz. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Hartz. A funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 10:00am in Holy Family Parish, All Saints Church in Memphis. Reverend Joseph Horn, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery in Kenockee Township. Visiting will be Monday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10am in the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
