Janet Rae Collins, 79 of Richmond; passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon July 7, 2016 surrounded by her family and dear friends at Wadhams Valley Assisted Care facility. She was born on February 3, 1937 in Napoleon Ohio to Harold & Eva Fleagle. She graduated from Napoleon High School and received her nursing degree from Henry Ford Hospital in 1959. She worked for many years as a head nurse at Martha T. Berry hospital in Mt. Clemens. She married Albert Collins on August 27, 1960. She enjoyed all things fabric and yarn with many wonderful quilts remaining to show her talents. She was an avid gardener surrounding herself and those she loved with flowers. She spent many days exploring antique stores and garages sales with Al. She was an active member of the Richmond Historical Society, Loose Threads, and Odds & Ends crafting group. She is survived by her husband Albert, son Timothy & Lynn Collins of Portland, Oregon, Patrick Collins of New Baltimore, Michigan, Daniel & Rhonda Collins of Edwardsburg, Michigan and grandchildren Zachary, Claire, Carson, Ceci, Tylar, and Ryann Collins. A Celebration of life will be 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Maniaci's Banquet Center, 69227 N. Main St., Richmond 48062.
