Jane Vella

JANE VELLA age 80, a forty year resident of East China Township died Friday September 24, 2010 in Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Mrs. Vella was born September 3, 1930 in Detroit to the late Percy and Kittie (Mills) Gragg. She married George Vella in Detroit on June 15, 1963. Mr. Vella died April 11, 2007. Jane was raised in the Catholic faith and worked as a spot welder at RSE Inc. in New Baltimore for eighteen years. She retired in 1995. She enjoyed knitting reading and using her computer. She is survived by her long time friend and caregiver, Sandra Crothers of East China, a sister, Betty Carey of Henderson, NV., her sisters-in-law, Mary Hintzmann of Ira Twp., Carmen (Joseph) Stahovec of New Baltimore and Carol Vella of Fair Haven. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her siblings, Stanley Gragg and Mary Hopson. A funeral service will be Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 10:00am in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Reverend Joseph Horn, pastor of Holy Family Parish in Memphis will officiate. Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Clay Township. Visiting will be on Tuesday from 3 to 8pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
