James Samolej

JAMES SAMOLEJ age 53 of Richmond died January 29, 2009 unexpectedly in his home after an extended illness. Mr. Samolej was born June 15, 1955 in Mount Clemens to Mieceslaus (Michael) and Irene (Lukomski) Samolej. He married Pamela Hendy in Richmond on August 23, 1980. Jim graduated from Richmond High School in 1973 where he participated in all sports. He worked as a pole technician for American Energy in Richmond. Jim loved playing cards and pool with his friends at the Richmond VFW. He enjoyed Chinese checkers, watching all sports and music, especially, Elvis. He is survived by his wife, Pamela, children, Scott and Heather, his mother, Irene Samolej, brother, Mitchell (Mary) all of Richmond, brother, Thomas (Vicki) of Casco, mother-in-law, Wilma Hendy, father-in-law, William Hendy and sister-in-law, Patricia (James) Walsh all of Chesterfield, many nephews and great nieces and nephews and special pet, Missy. He was preceded in death by his father, Mieceslaus in 2003 and his brother, Gary in 1968. A funeral Mass will be on Wednesday at 10:00am in St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond. Monsignor George Browne will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Richmond. Visiting will be on Tuesday from 3 to 9:00pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10am in the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
