James C. Roberts

JAMES CLIFFORD ROBERTS age 91, a sixty year resident of Casco township died Sunday, June 13, 2010 in St. John River District Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Roberts was born October 17, 1918 in Boone County Indiana to the late John and Retha (Vaughn) Roberts. He married Loraine Dulin in Indianapolis on August 28, 1946. Loraine died August 26, 1991. He married Janice Moomau in Sterling Heights on December 18, 1992. Mr. Roberts retired January 1, 1982 as a construction welder and was a member of the Boiler Maker's Union #169. James was a very religious man serving his Lord as a youth minister at the Bethel temple and New Hope Full Gospel Church in New Baltimore and was former pastor of the Emmanuel Chapel in Richmond. He was a graduate of the Anchor Bay Evangelist Association in New Baltimore and enjoyed reading his bible. He is survived by his wife, Janice, son James "Art" and Paula Roberts of Muncie, Ind., daughters, Beverly and Ronald Smith of Cleveland, TN., Patricia and Raymond McKuern of Lebanon, Ind. and Sandra Roberts of Richmond, a brother, Donald Roberts of Whitestown, Ind., seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his first wife he was preceded in death by his grandson, Donald Smith and siblings, Edna May Lewis, Viola Gabbert, Ruth Andrews and Clarence Roberts. A funeral service will be on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 1:00pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Pastor Robert Corby of the Port Huron
Assembly of God Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery. Visiting will be Tuesday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond.
