James Donald Engels

James Donald Engels, 80, of Richmond Twp., passed away peacefully January 9, 2020 at Advantage Living Center in Armada. James was born August 28, 1939 to the late John and Marjore Engels. Loving husband of the late Lois Engels; caring father of Mark (Sonia) and Michael (Amy) Engels; cherished grandfather of Zachary and Ronan Engels and Jack Taylor. Also, survived by his siblings Mary Beth Engels, Caroline Engels, Christine (Bill) Carins, Lois Engels and Veronica (Bob) Carpenter. Preceded in death by his brother, John Engels and sister, Joyce Burkhardt. Jim proudly served in the United States Army, was a member of the Richmond Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus Council 10501, owned and operated Richmond Hardware for 30 years. He enjoyed his classic cars, hunting and spending time at his cabin up north.
Visitation will be 2:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Holy Family Parish, 79780 Main St, Memphis, MI 48041.
