James Harlo Braun, 93, passed peacefully on December 30, 2020. James was born July 3, 1927 in Detroit, MI to the late George and Martha Braun. Loving husband of the late Margaret (Ruff) Braun; cherished father of Susan (James) Schulz, Dorothy (John) Clark, Sandra (David) Moore, and Debra Fuerstenau; grandfather of 16, great grandfather of 25 and 1 great, great grandson. Also, survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Braun, son-in-law, Joel Fuerstenau and siblings George Braun Jr. and Dorothy Johnson.
Jim loved being raised in the small town of Memphis, MI, until he entered the United States Army, in 1945, and proudly served his country in WWII. He married Peggy in 1948 and they moved to Richmond to raise their family. He spent his entire career at Carboloy General Electric, in Warren, MI. He retired as a supervisor, at the age of 60. He was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he sang in the church choir. Jim loved and took great pride in his family. He enjoyed fishing with his grandsons, watching his grandchildren play sports and traveling. He coached boys little league baseball and youth girls' basketball. He was an avid bowler and played the trumpet and the organ. He played organ in his band, The Velvetones, for many local events and weddings for over thirty years. After the band, he played regularly at Verniers, in Fair Haven. He also volunteered and enjoyed playing for the residents of Richmond Medilodge.
