Helen Lucille Chartrand

Helen Lucille Chartrand (nee Mecke), 89, went home to be with her savior on Wednesday, December 16, 2015.
Helen was born on June 21, 1926 to George and Lucille Mecke. She lived in Detroit until the age of seven when she moved to Richmond, Michigan.
Helen was very involved with her community through school and it was there that she met her future husband, Donald Chartrand. The two were married on April 19, 1947. They had four (4) children.
Helen loved to travel, listening to Southern gospel music, dancing, reading her daily devotionals and most of all enjoyed being with her family.
She was predeceased in death by her husband, Donald, parents George and Lucy Mecke and brother Loren.
She is survived by her children Thomas (Rose)Chartrand, Nancy Scofield, Barbara (Frederick) Schmude and Cynthia(Thomas) Greenia; also by her grandchildren Tracy (Darla) Wilson, Dana( Joshua) Mermell, Jason and Jeffery Scofield, David and Katherine Schmude, Kenneth and Jessica Greenia; great grandchildren Taylor and Shayna Wilson, Samantha Scofield and Max and Ellie Mermell.
Visitation will be at Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond 48062 from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 17 and Friday, December 18 from 2 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Columbus Bible Church, 1770 Palms Rd., Columbus 48063 on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made in her name to the Salvation Army.
