Harold Charles Papson

Harold Charles Papson, 85, surrounded by loving family, passed through the Gates of Heaven to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Harold was born January 25, 1940 to the late John and Eleanor Papson. He was the loving father of Ann (Keith) Perry, John (Suzanne) Papson, Karen (Juan) Balboa, Michael (Erin) Papson, Kenneth Papson, Michele (Steve) Bandoo, Sarah (Dan) MacArthur and Alexander (Melissa) Papson. He was the cherished Papa of 22 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was married to Pauline, the love of his life, for 60 years before her passing in January of 2023. Harold was proud of the time he spent in the Medical Division when he served in the United States Coast Guard from 1966 – 1968. He was a respected radiologist for over 40 years. While he was proud of those accomplishments, the roles he most cherished were those of son, husband, father, and Papa. He lovingly often referred to his eight children as The Eight Pack. He loved traveling with his late wife and family throughout the United States. His favorite trips were those out west. He enjoyed photography, wood working and spending time out doors enjoying nature. He and Pauline especially loved the 30 plus years they lived on “the farm” of 33 acres in Richmond. They collected a lifetime of memories there with, and for, their family.

Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2025 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass Friday, May 2, 2025 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 68035 Main St, Richmond, MI 48062.
