Harold Anthony Carlson

Harold Anthony Carlson, 80, of Columbus Twp., passed away very unexpectedly Friday, November 13, 2020 at Ascension River District Hospital. Harold was born October 15, 1940 to the late Orville and Clara Carlson. Cherished husband of Donna Carlson; caring father of Theresa (Steve) Pankiewicz, Charlotte (Timm) Kelly and Craig (Debbie) Carlson; grandfather of Steven, Donna June (Tyler), Josiah, Andrew, Allison, Rose, Olivia, Tyler and Courtney; great grandfather of Theresa and Fryea. Also, survived by his sister, Ann Bryer and brother, John Carlson. Preceded in death by his brothers, Francis and Clyde Carlson, and sister, Karen Carlson.
Harold proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved farming and working outdoors, enjoyed family, kids, grandkids and many others who considered him a father figure. He talked and listened to everyone and never met a stranger. His dream was to winter in Florida in retirement, which he happily did for 20 years. He will be remembered by his smile, his genuine interest in others, his ability to see the best in everyone and his appreciation for life.
Visitation will be 2:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062. Funeral Mass will be 11:30 a.m. with a visitation from 10:30 until the time of Mass Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 68035 Main St, Richmond, MI 48062.
