Gilbert Wahl

Gilbert W. Wahl, age 86 of Richmond died Thursday, February 21, 2008 in Medilodge of Richmond after an extended illness. He was born in Detroit on April 23, 1921 to the late William and Irene (Paetzel) Wahl. He married Irene Kaufman in Peters, MI on October 20, 1945, she later passed away on March 22, 2003. Mr. Wahl was a self employed dairy farmer and was a member of the Farm Bureau, Michigan Milk Producers Association, National Farmers Organization, and was on the Trinity Lutheran Church Council. He enjoyed farming, bowling, playing cards, and mostly spending time with his family. He is survived by his sons Richard and Wilma Wahl of Richmond, Raymond and Sheryl Wahl of Warren, Ronald and Debbie Wahl of Columbus, and Roger and Kristine Wahl of Richmond, daughter Jeanette and Michael Stahl of Richmond, sister Beatrice Klungler of Sun City, Arizona, twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Mr. Wahl was preceded in death by his brothers Marvin and Eldon Wahl. A funeral service will be Monday, February 25, 2008 at 10:30 am in Trinity Lutheran Church, Richmond. Rev. Sherry Schacht will officiate. Burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 9 pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Monday from 10 to 10:30 am in the church.
