George Vella

GEORGE VELLA JR. age 73, a thirty-five year resident of China Township died Wednesday, April 11, 2007 in St. Joseph Select Specialty Hospital in Mount Clemens after a brief illness. Mr. Vella was born July 3, 1933 in Detroit to the late George and Michilina (Hili) Vella. He married Jane Gragg in Detroit on June 15, 1963. George retired as a window maker for Shatter Proof Glass Co. in Detroit but his main love was farming and raising different animals. He enjoyed painting pictures and building models. He was a member of the Ira Township Goodfellows. He is survived by his wife, Jane, sisters, Mary and Harvey Hintzmann of Ira Township and Carmen and Joseph Stahovec of New Baltimore, his sister-in-law, Carol Vella of Fair Haven, a special friend, Sandra Crothers and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Victor Vella. A funeral service will be on Friday, April 13th at 3:00 pm in Rewalt Funeral Home in Richmond. Reverend Joseph Horn, pastor of All Saints Catholic Church in Memphis will officiate. Visiting will be on Thursday from 4 to 9pn and on Friday from 2 to 3pm.
