Frank W. Selewski

FRANK WILLIAM SELEWSKI age 94 of Lenox Township died Thursday, May 7, 2015 in McLaren Macomb Hospital. Mr. Selewski was born May 25, 1920 in Detroit to the late Frank and Joan (Rybakowski) Selewski. He married Geraldine VanLeer in Detroit on June 15, 1939. Mrs. Selewski died November 29, 2004. Frank graduated from Northwestern High School in Detroit in 1938 and earned his Certified Life Underwriters Degree from Wayne State University. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II and recipient of a Purple Heart Medal. He retired in 1985 after serving twenty-five years with the John Hancock Insurance Company. He enjoyed working with his son in his insurance business and swimming. He is survived by his children; Noel Selewski of Grosse Pointe, Judith and Everett Jenkins of Lenox Township and Janet Jackson of Locust, NC, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his brother, William Selewski, grandson, Jeffery Jenkins and son-in-law Daniel Jackson. A funeral Mass will be on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 12 Noon at St. Francis and St. Maximilian Catholic Community, 62811 New Haven Road, Ray, MI 48096, 586-598-3314. Reverend Christopher Talbot, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the Richards Cemetery in Richmond Township under the auspices of the Veterans Alliance Honor Guard. Visiting will be from 11:00 to 12 noon in the church. Memorial contributions are suggested for the wishes of the family.
