FRANCES SUSAN HALEY age 90 of Avon, Indiana, formerly of New Haven died Monday, January 7, 2013. Mrs. Haley was born January 31, 1922 in Elwell, MI. to the late Stephen and Veronika (Mladi) Kovach. She graduated from Riverdale High School and married Joseph Haley on February 2, 1942. Joe died February 7, 1993. Frances was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and member of the First Congregational Church in New Haven. She was strong in her faith, played the organ at church, loved to read to her grandchildren and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and word search games. Her family will remember her as being an excellent cook, picking blackberries and baking her blackberry pies. She is survived by her children; Joseph (Emily) of Wolverine, George (Janet) of Winter Haven, FL, Bruce (Evie) of Macomb, Russell (Beverly) of Reno, NV, Barry (Therese) of Avon, IN, Colleen (Gary) Charles of Lenox, Kenny (Debbie) of Benin, Africa and Nancy (Bill) Birch of Lenox, twenty-two grandchildren and forty-four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by four siblings. A funeral service will be on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 10:00am at First Congregational Church in New Haven. Reverends Kenneth and Barry Haley, her sons will officiate. Burial will be in Centennial Cemetery in New Haven. Visitation will be Friday, January 25th from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:00am in the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
