Ferdinand Maurin

Ferdinand Maurin, 98, of Macomb Twp. died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 in St. John Hospital and Medical Center. He was born July 30, 1912 to Peter and Annie (Bukovich) Maurin in Calumet, Michigan. He married Edna Beckman in Detroit and worked as a tool and die maker. Mr. Maurin enjoyed wood working, watching sports and spending time with his family. He is survived by his sons Frederick and Claudia Maurin of Emmett and Michael and Shirley Maurin of Macomb Twp., sister Dorothy Maurin of Calumet, grandchildren: Timothy, Kristy, Kimberly, Brian, Lynn, Rebecca, and Sarah, eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers Peter, Ludwig, Emil, Carl, William, and Albert, and sisters Carlina and Ann. A funeral Mass will be said Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011 at 10:30 am in St. Augustine Catholic Church, Richmond. Rev. Joseph Plawecki will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Calumet. Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 8 in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:30 am in the church. Memorial donations may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
