Eugene Charles Brown

Eugene (Gene) Charles Brown, 72, formerly of Richmond, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, January 13, 2018. Gene was born in Richmond on December 8, 1945 to Harvey and Delores Brown. Gene was an avid basketball player and excelled at sports at Richmond High School. He was a veteran of the US Army and served his country in the Vietnam War from 1969-1971. Gene enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was truly a kind soul and always had a good word to say. Gene is survived by his daughter Tasha, many loving brothers and sisters; Delores Fallena, Harvey (Maryann) Brown, Fern Davis, Virgil (Diane) Brown, Margaret kelch, Helen Brown and Georgina (Roger) Daggett. He is also survived by numerous Aunts and Uncles, Nieces and Nephews, and many other friends and family. Many people helped Gene throughout his life, especially Don (Crow) Delorey, a fellow veteran who never stopped fighting for Gene's rights, Vincent and Irene Achatz who were like second parents to Gene and his older brother Harvey. He is preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Delores, beloved grandparents Lawrence and Mae Ottenbacher; Sister-in-Law Diane Marie Brown; Uncle Tom Chartrand and his youngest brother Herbie Brown.
Burial will take place 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2018 at Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron, Michigan.
