Elvira M. Ricossa

ELVIRA MARCELLINA RICOSSA age 93 of Richmond died Sunday, September 1, 2013 in her home. Mrs. Ricossa was born October 20, 1919 in Santa Giustina, Italy to the late Giuseppe Antonio and Maria Rosalia Bressani Conedera. She married Giovanni Bapttista Ricossa in Detroit on February 4, 1939. Mr. Ricossa died November 21, 1991. Elvira graduated from Eastern High School in Detroit with the class of 1937. She and her husband owned and operated Giovanni's Appetizing Foods in Richmond since 1933. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond and the Venetian Women's Club in Detroit. She is survived by her children; Philip and Maureen Ricossa of Richmond, Madeleine and Jack Ramsey of Mercer Island, WA and Maria and John Bourgeois of Toronto, nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her siblings; Mario Conedera and Corrina Marques. A funeral service will be on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 10:00am in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Reverend Joseph Horn, pastor of Holy Family Parish, St. Augustine Catholic church will officiate. Entombment will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Richmond. Visiting will be on Thursday from 3 to 8pm and Friday from 9 to 10:00am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Henry Ford Hospice, One Ford Place, 5A, Detroit, MI 48202-3450.
