Elmer John Swartz, Jr.

Elmer J. Swartz, Jr., age 89, of Richmond, formerly of St. Clair Shores, died Monday, June 18, 2012 in Medilodge of Richmond. He was born March 25, 1923 in Detroit to the late Elmer and Florence Swartz. Elmer served in the US Army as an M.P. stationed in Fort Crooks, Nebraska during WWII where he met and married Frances Krupa in 1945. She preceded him in death in 1990. Elmer worked for Cassens Car Transit as a dispatcher for many years. He is survived by his son, Robert (Kay) Swartz of Southgate; a daughter, Ruth (Ross) Brown of Richmond and a grandson, Robert Swartz, Jr. of Southgate. A committal service will be 11:00 am Friday, June 22, 2012 in Resurrection Cemetery, Mt. Clemens. The Reverend Kelsay Parker of Trinity Lutheran Church, Richmond will officiate.
