Elisabeth Buseman

Elisabeth Busemann, 96, of Columbus Township, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Lake Shore woods Assisted Living in Fort Gratiot, Michigan surrounded by her loving family. Elisabeth was born January 15, 1929 in Germany. The daughter of the late Franz and Elizabeth Gockel. She married Josef Busemann on March 2, 1957. In 1958 they gave birth to their son John. They continued to build a life together gaining American Citizenship in 1966. Elisabeth went on to use her nursing education she received in Germany. She was employed at both Bon Secours and St. Joesph’s in Mt. Clemens as an LPN. Elisabeth and Josef built a cattle business together in Columbus Twp. She was a long-time member of St. Phillips Parish. Elisabeth always enjoyed spending time with family through the years. For the last ten years she enjoyed living in Zephyr Hills, Florida. Elisabeth enjoyed retirement spending time with friends, playing cards, sewing small quilts, bibs and burp rags for babies for donation. Elisabeth is survived by loving son John (Bethany)Busemann of Columbus Twp. Adoring Grandmother to Lauren (Aaron) King, Shelby (Auston) Paul, Bryan Busemann, Brittany (Ryan) Piotrowski, Haley (Justin) Pierfelice, Brandon (Savana) Saikowski and Jason Saikowski. Caring Great Grandmother to Aiden Paul, Myles Piotrowsk, Wrenley Piotrowsk, Brynlee Saikowski, Lillian Pier Felice, and Payton Paul. She is preceded in death by her husband Josef and sisters Anna, Maria, and brother Franz.

Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on February 28, 2025 at Holy Family Parish, 79780 Main St, Memphis, MI 4804.
