Edwin David Verbrugge

Edwin David Verbrugge, 77, of Columbus Twp., passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023. Edwin was born November 27, 1945 to the late Edwin and Ann Verbrugge. He graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1965 and married his high school sweetheart, Gladys Cain. They were married for 58 years. During that time, they had three beautiful daughters; Rhonda (Rick) Beauchemin, Audie Verbrugge, Dawn Verbrugge, and blessed with six grandchildren, Ashley Morin, Austin Morin, Lauren Chen, David Lynch, Katelyn Fletcher, Faith Fletcher, and one great grandson; Jaxxon Chen. Also, survived by his sisters; Mickey (Jack) Mapletoft and Beverly (Jack) Stoliker. A sister, Sally (Larry) Kus predeceased him. Edwin (who preferred the name “Dave”) built and operated the Rolling River Ranch for over 50 years. He enjoyed the years of taking care of horses and meeting all the people that passed through the barn doors.
Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Friday, October 20, 2023 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 68035 Main St, Richmond, MI 48062.
