Edwin Harold Uhl

Edwin Harold Uhl, 84, of Wales, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home. He was born in Roseville on August 28, 1940, the son of the late Henry and Mary (Bauer) Uhl. On January 28, 1961, he married Barbara E. Agnello at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in East Detroit. They were happily married for 63 years. Ed grew up in East Detroit before moving to Richmond in 1976, where together with his wife, owned and operated Uhl’s Greenhouse for 25 years. An Engineer by trade, Ed started several businesses including Alpha Enterprises and Uhl’s Industries, where he designed and built special machines. Once he retired, he and Barbara enjoyed traveling in their motorhome, spending winters in Florida, golfing, bowling, visiting casinos and he found a new passion for fixing cuckoo clocks. As an avid golfer, he enjoyed many years as part of the Sand Baggers. Ed was also active on many committees at both St. Peter’s in East Detroit and Richmond. Ed never stopped passing on his knowledge to his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters, Linda (Edward) Bishop and Carol (Jeffrey) Austin; his grandchildren, Samantha (Aron) Jaskolski, Edwin Bishop, Rachelle (Bradley) Fergin, Jordan Austin, Danny (Alyssa) Beals II, Jacob (Madison) Austin and Stephanie (Gary) Holiday; his great grandchildren, Chelsey, Tristin, Liam, Everette, Roman, Vaughn, Cooper, Callie and Charlotte. He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara (Agnello) Uhl and son, Thomas Edwin Uhl.

The family will honor the memory of Edwin with a Funeral Service at 11:00 and a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Service on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 67055 Gratiot Ave, Richmond, MI 48062.
