EDWARD ALOYSIUS SUMA age 92 of Columbus Township died Sunday, December 1, 2013 in his home after a brief illness. Mr. Suma was born November 9, 1921 in Detroit to the late Joseph and Felecia Suma. He married Ruth Chester in Detroit on June 22, 1940. He and Ruth just celebrated 73 years of marriage. He attended Northeastern High School in Detroit and retired as a tool and die maker in 1985 after thirty years service with Northrup Grumman in Detroit. Ed was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War and member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, children; Arthur (Sandra) Suma of Valrico, FL and Carol Collias of Sterling Heights, brother, Frank (Pat) Suma of Eastpointe, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings; Mary Binkowski, Lottie Robbins, Virginia Bright and Joseph, Stanley and Thomas Suma. A funeral service will be on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 6:00pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond with visiting from 3 to 6pm. Cremation will take place after service.
