Edith Ballach

EDITH BALLACH 74 of Richmond, formerly of Sterling Heights died Monday, January 18, 2010 in her home after an extended illness. Mrs. Ballach was born October 7, 1935 in Cerwenka, Yugoslavia to the late Peter and Eleanore (Scharf) Schmidt. She married Edward Ballach in Detroit on February 16, 1957. Edith worked in Central Processing at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak for thirteen years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed working in her yard and garden. She is survived by her husband, Edward, children, Ronald and Linda Ballach of Lenox Township and Sylvia Georgievski of Clinton Township, grandchildren, Jason (Danette) Georgievski, Jennifer Georgievski, Christopher (Sarah) Ballach and Nicholas Ballach, brother, Erwin and Edith Schmidt of Germany and sister-in-law Maral Schmidt of Germany. She was preceded in death by her brother, Peter Schmidt. Honoring Edith's wishes, a private funeral service will be held at Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Reverend Gerhardt Doroh, pastor of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Richmond will officiate. Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery in Armada, MI. The family has extended an invitation to stop by the family home at your convenience to visit.
