Dolores Jane Spicer, 88, a lifelong resident of Richmond, passed away at McLaren Macomb Hospital Monday, December 12, 2016. She was the daughter of Milton Schultz and Luella Beier. Beloved wife of the late William E. Spicer; Caring mother of Suzanne Hoornstra, Robert E. (Laura) Spicer and Carrie Spicer; Grandmother of Tina Gross, Ben Hoornstra, Robert A. Spicer, Theresa (Darren) Snider and Richard (Mary) Yaklin Jr.; Great grandmother of Gavin, Blake, Brandon and Jordan. Also, survived by her brother James (Janice) Schultz and daughter-in-law Penny Spicer. Preceded in death by her son Sgt. William C. Spicer and brothers Milton "Bud" (Joanie) Schultz and Gerald (Jennette) Schultz. Dolores was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She worked for many years as the IGA Foodliner dairy manager and was loved by all who knew her, especially the children to which she gave free cookies when shopping. She loved dining on the St. Clair River where she could watch the freighters. She also loved shopping, quilting, crocheting, gardening and bird watching. She will always be remembered for her quick wit and great sense of humor. Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. with a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday, December 16 at Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond 48062.
