Diane L. Obee

DIANE L. OBEE age 65 of Columbus Township died Monday, January 20, 2014 at home after an extended illness. Mrs. Obee was born February 8, 1948 in Detroit to the late Richard and Sylvia (Kopenhagen) Murley. She graduated from Algonac High School in 1966, attended St. Clair County Community College, earned her BA degree from the University of Michigan and double MA degree from Wayne State University. She married Thomas Obee in St. Clair, Mi on December 22, 1969. Diane worked as a patient representative and Insurance billing clerk at Mount Clemens General Hospital for forty years. She retired in 2008. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond and volunteered as an informant for seniors needing help understanding Medicare and Part D. She enjoyed reading, traveling and animals especially cats. She is survived by her husband, Thomas, children; Paul (Kimberly) Beymore of Vermilion, OH, James Obee of Caro, MI. and Valerie (Joseph) McCarthy of North Augustus, SC and brothers; Michael (Dolly) Murley of Fair Haven and Robert (Janice) Murley of Chesterfield and brother and sister-in-law, John and Janice Obee of Farmington. A funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 10:00am in St. Augustine Church. Reverend Joseph Horn, pastor of Holy Family Parish will officiate. Visiting will be on Thursday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Friday from 9:30 to 10:00am in the church. There will be a scripture rosary on Thursday in the funeral home at 6:30pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Diane Obee Memorial Scholarship Fund at St. Clair County Community College, payable to: SC4 Alumni Association in memory of Diane Obee, PO Box 5015, Port Huron, MI 48061-5015.
