DENNIS JAMES TANONA 57 of Richmond, formerly of Centerline died unexpectedly on Friday, October 19, 2007 in his home. Mr. Tanona was born January 1, 1950 in Detroit to the late Antoni and Lorraine (Jesse) Tanona. He married Cheryl Anderson in Royal Oak on November 17, 1979. Dennis graduated from St. Ladislaus High School in Hamtramck and attended Hillsdale College. He retired in 2004 as a supervisor at Michigan Consolidated Gas Company after thirty-two years. He and his wife, Cheryl owned and operated Richmond Flowers Gifts and Garden for the past three years. Dennis was involved in the community of Richmond serving as a member of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Economic Development Committee, Rotary Club and Optimist Club. He was an avid True Blue University of Michigan fan and enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. He is survived by his wife Cheryl, son Scott Tanona of Shelby Twp., daughter Anne (David) Sauger of Chesterfield Twp., mother Lorraine Tanona of Florida, siblings Martin (Arlene) Tanona of Arizona, Les (Mary) Tanona of Rochester Hills, Terri (David) Niezgoda of Walloon Lake, and Gordon Tanona of Georgia, mother-in-law Donna Anderson of Cadillac, and brother-in-law Stephen Webber of Florida. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his sister Julie Webber in 2005. A funeral service will be Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Rev. Gerhardt Doroh will officiate. Memorial contributions may be directed towards the wishes of the family.
