David Frederick Kammer, 87, of Lenox, passed away surrounded by family at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, Wednesday, February 20, 2019. David was born April 10, 1931 to the late Frank and Barbara Kammer. Beloved husband of Marilyn; caring father of James (Beverly), Ronald (Beth), Carol (Ron) Swantek, Kenneth (Joyce) and Linda (Howard) Nelson; adored grandfather of Brianna (Micheal) Walsh, Julianne Kammer, Derek, Brett (Brianna) and Lauren Swantek, Adam, Erin and Scott Nelson, , Lillian (Aaron) Sweeten, Paul Kozlowski, Shawn (Christine) Rose; great grandfather of Emma, Autumn, Katelyn and Caleb. David proudly served his country for the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He was a life time member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, member of the Knights of Columbus and an usher. He was a union carpenter by trade, devoted family man with a quick wit and always made people laugh. David enjoyed polka music, playing cards, hunting, bird watching and woodworking.
Visitation will be 1:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2019 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062. Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. with a visitation from 12:30 p.m. until the time of Mass, Saturday, February 23, 2019 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 68035 S. Main St., Richmond, MI 48062.
