David Avouris

DAVID AVOURIS age 67 of Marysville, Mi. died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at his mother's home in St Clair Shores. Mr. Avouris was born August 19, 1946 in Hamtramck, Mi to Dennis and Audrey (Leontaris) Avouris. He graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1966 and served with the United States Navy Sea Bees from1967 to 1969. He married Rita Brock in St. Clair Shores on April 8, 1967. Dave was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 324 and retired from G.L. Sebert after twenty-five years. He enjoyed going to flea markets, garage sales, golf and fishing but his passion was his '55 Chevy and his '71 Chevelle. He is survived by his wife, Rita of forty-six years, his children; David Avouris of Chesterfield, Theresa Avouris of Utica and Monica and Danny Koran of Wales, his mother, Audrey Avouris of St. Clair Shores, siblings; James (Helen) Avouris of Allen Park, Chris Avouris of Capac, Connie Esch of Mount Clemens and Pamela (Jim) Kalich of St. Clair Shores and grandchildren; Ana Avouris and Antiano Avouris-Rasa. He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Avouris. Visiting will be Monday from 3 to 7pm with a service at 7pm. Reverend Michael Varlamos, pastor of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in St. Clair Shores will officiate. Burial will be in the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. on Tuesday, December 31, 2013. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
