We are gathered here to honor Clarence who has meant so much to us as family patriarch and boon companion during his time upon this earth. While time and distance do not permit many more to be here with us today, they are here in spirit and remembrance.Born in Detroit on August 27, 1925, to Clarence W. Moore and Mennetta Moore, at an early age his family moved to Bessemer, MI. As a youth of fourteen Clarence was already helping in his father's business, his dad being the local mortician and coroner. Within two years Clarence was making ambulance runs to aid the ill and injured in a two-hundred mile radius. At seventeen he enlisted in the United State Army; soon becoming a sergeant and forward artillery observer infiltrating behind German lines during WW II. He fought in major battles, including the Battle of the Bulge and the Battle of Cologne, and in Heidelberg, Stuttgart, Essen, and Dusseldorf. Receiving numerous awards for his service, in 1945 he was honorably discharged. That same year he married Beatrice Niemi, who passed away in 2005, and they had four children. Three of his children survive him: a son Clarence ("Mickey") and wife Lorraine Moore of Wales, MI, and their children Lisa, Kristy, Shane, and Keith; a daughter Honorene and husband Larry Skover of Shelby Twp., MI, and their children Randy and Christopher; and Vanessa and husband Robert Mudloff of Brown City, MI and their children Robert and Amanda. Sadly, a third daughter Mennetta Moore ("Cookie") died in 1995, and is survived by her children Jeanine, Steven, and Daren. In addition to these eleven grandchildren, Clarence has been blessed with twenty-two great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. In 1983 Clarence married Marie Cowles and the two of them spent the next twenty-eight years devoted to each other until she died last year on September 24 at the age of ninety-eight. Twenty years ago they moved to Silver City, NM, for health reasons where they are fondly remembered for their many years of volunteer efforts on behalf of the local senior center; including preparing and delivering Meals-on-Wheels to shut-ins, an effort for which they received national recognition. In 2008 they took up residence at the Ponce De Leon retirement home in Santa Fe where they were welcomed for their lively involvement in that community. About four months ago Clarence returned to Michigan to take up residence at Medilodge of Richmond, MI., where he has been surrounded again by the many loving members of his family. His return has been a true blessing for his family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
