CLARA JOSEPHINE DICKINSON went t be with her Lord and Savior on January 29, 2015. She was the only daughter of Orlando and Lena (Kreiner) Norrod born on May 4, 1923 in Detroit, MI. She graduated from Denby High School and met her husband while working at Uniroyal in Detroit. She married Thomas Dickinson on June 19, 1943 in Detroit and remained his adoring wife and best friend for 71 years. She was a loving mother, happily putting her whole heart into raising her six children, always there to support and guide them. Her grandchildren all have fond memories of their time spent with her. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Richmond since moving there in 1951 and of the Richmond Chapter of Eastern Star for many years. She is survived by her husband Thomas; children; Thomas (Jackie) Dickinson of Lapeer, John (Dolores) Dickinson of Casco, Robert (Colleen) Dickinson of Gurnee, IL, Kathy Dickinson (Ronn Hendershot) of Mears, Mariann (Ron) Cierny of Waukegan, IL, and Clara (Terry) Patchel of Richmond, grandchildren; John (Tammy), Thomas, Michael (Tia), Matthew and Jaime Dickinson, Andy Cierny, Jorel and Ketura Hendershot, Chenoah (Ben) Walsh, Elizabeth, Ted, Kristen and Kathy Patchel, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. A funeral service will be on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 10:00am in the First United Methodist Church of Richmond. Reverend Suzy Hutchinson, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 1st from 3 to 8pm with an Eastern Star service at 6:30pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Monday from 9:30 to 10:00am in the church. Memorial contributions are suggested for the U.M.W. (United Methodist Women).
