CHARLES "Pete" HEATH age 96 of St. Clair formerly of Richmond died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 in his home after an extended illness. Mr. Heath was born June 20, 1911 in Richmond to the late Charles and Cora (Weeks) Heath. He graduated from Richmond High School in 1929 and attended two years of college. Mr. Heath married Patrenella Beauvais in Chattanooga, TN on June 5, 1938. She died in December of 1983. He married Marion "Bea" Haag in Marathon, FL on January 27, 2004. Mr. Heath was a member of the Richmond Volunteer Fire Department, National Bank of Richmond Board of Directors, the first Richmond Good Old Days Committee, Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of Richmond Public Library, Chairman and President of Heath International Inc. and had the first snowmobile franchise in Michigan. He was a talented musician who enjoyed fishing, traveling, antique boats, spending winters in Long Key, FL, and inventing, where he was best known for his "toaster tongs" and gas leakage detection devices. He is survived by his wife Marion "Bea" Haag, daughters Marilyn (Dennis) Mach of Marine City and Pattie (Jerry) Papuga of Richmond, grandchildren: Chuck Mach, Mike (Beth) Mach, John (Kolleen Zimmer) Papuga, Jeff Papuga and Debbie Papuga, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his brother Milton Heath and sister Marjorie Bingham. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 12:00 pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Rev. Jennifer Long, pastor of First United Church of Christ, Richmond will officiate. Visiting will be Saturday from 11 am to 12 pm. Memorial donations may be directed to the Richmond Antique Fire Truck Fund, Lois Wagner Memorial Library, First United Church of Christ, or St. Johns Hospice.
