Celia Szelag 96 of Hamtramck died Oct. 28, 2008. She was born September 20, 1912 in Natrona, Pennsylvania to the late Titus and Mary (Gumoska) Rutkowski. She retired from Chrysler Corp. where she worked as a factory worker. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, word searches, and mostly spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter Mary Bielecki (Len Kallen) of Columbus Twp., son-in-law Tom Mikolajczak of Sterling Heights, sisters Victoria (Stephen) Kablak of Macomb Twp. and Leona Brousseau of Detroit, eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husbands Walter Jazdzyk and Anthony Szelag, son Anthony Jaye and daughter Lillian Mikolajczak. A funeral mass will be Friday at 10:00 am in St. Augustine Catholic Church, Richmond. Fr. Jospeh Plawecki will officiate. Visiting will be Thursday from 3 to 8 in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond with a scripture service at 7:00 pm and Friday from 9:30 to 10 in the church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Twp. Memorial contributions may be directed towards the St. Augustine Building Fund.
