Celia A. Riley

CELIA ANN RILEY age 72 of Rochester Hills, MI died Friday January 18, 2013 at the Sanctuary at Bellbrook in Rochester Hills. Mrs. Riley was born August 16, 1940 in Hamtramck, MI to the late Charles and Cecilia (Hendrykowski) Lipka. Celia graduated from Commerce High School in Detroit in 1958 and earned her Associate Degree in Early Childhood Development from Oakland Community College in 1988. She attended St. Irenaeus Catholic Church in Rochester Hills. She worked at many jobs over the years including, Mr. Pizza, Rainbow Daycare, Oakland University, Rochester Schools, Home Depot and a Real Estate agency. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, baking and spending time with her children. She is survived by her son, James Riley of Imlay City, daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Philip Lyon of Elyria, Ohio, sister; Catherine Hurd of Roseville, sister-in-law; Marilyn Lipka-Lacey of St. Clair Shores, nieces; Lynn Wilson-Braxton, Sandra Lipka, nephews; Michael Weisenbaugh, David Lipka Jr. and Chrarles Lipka, lifelong friend; Valerie (Steve) Remenar, Godchild; Marie (Jerry) VanHuysse. She had many dear cousins including; Michaeline (Mike) Beldyga, Gloria (Jerry) Clapper, Bobby (Toni) Lobert, Patricia Lobert, Rosemarie Janda, Dorothy Pringle, Victoria (Michael) Fligstein and Diane (James) Boyd. She was preceded in death by her brother; David Lipka Sr. in December of 1998. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the wonderful staff at the Sanctuary of Bellbrook for the love and care they gave their mother during her extended stay. A funeral service will be on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 10:00am in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Mr. James Livingston, chaplain of Sanctuary at Bellbrook will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visiting will be on Monday from 3 to 8pm and Tuesday from 9:00 to 10am. Memorial contributions are suggested for St. Jude's Hospital.
