Byron Dennis Helzer Jr.

Byron Dennis Helzer Jr., 58, of Algonac, passed away very unexpectedly Saturday, September 14, 2024. Byron was born April 18, 1966 to Byron and Diane Helzer. Byron is survived by his sons, Byron Helzer III and Zachary Helzer, sisters, Brenda Smith, Beth (Jeff) Kain, Deanna (Dan) Klama and Dana (Adam) Saunders, and many nieces and nephews. Byron worked as a semi truck driver for the majority of his life where he hauled gravel, milk, petroleum, and waste. Byron was truly passionate about cars and trucks. He spent a lot of his free time out in the barn listening to rock music and working on his truck and anything else that had a motor. When Byron wasn’t working in the barn he enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, old westerns with John Wayne, car shows, and any movie starring Elvis Presley.”

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Service on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062.
