Betty Jane Raska

Betty Jane Raska, 86, of Lenox, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the Village of East Harbor Rehabilitation Unit after a short illness. Betty was born July 3, 1932 to the late Frederick and Veva Austin. Loving wife of the late Vincent M. Raska; cherished mother of Jeanne (Daniel) Ernst, Mary Jo (Chris) Frank, Carolyn (James) Prior, Vincent (Nellie) Raska, Dr. Richard (Donna) Raska and Janice (Scott) Dolan; special grandmother of Kristen (Michael) Wolf, Stephen (Rachel) Ernst, David (Heather) Ernst, Christopher (Alicia) Frank, Dr. Keith (Amanda) Frank, Brian Prior, James (Molly) Prior, Matthew (Jessica) Raska, Neil Raska, Lee Allison Raska, Benjamin (Shala) Raska, Morgan Raska, Madison Raska, Peyton Dolan, Brennen Dolan; and great-grandmother of 20. Also, survived by her brothers Robert (Joyce) Austin, John "Jack" (Mary) Austin, David (Ruby) Austin, Denis (Bonnie) Austin, Paul Austin, sister, Mary Louise Westrick, sisters-in-law Arlene (Cliff) Schweiger, Delphine Raska, Veronica Raska, brothers-in-law, Raymond (Violet) Raska, and Dale (Adelle) Raska. Preceded in death by brother, Gene (Bernadette) Austin, father-in-law, Joseph Raska, mother-in-law, Grace Raska, brothers-in-law, Lloyd Westrick, Richard "Dickie" Raska, David Raska, Roland Raska, Duane Raska, Hank Fraley, and sister-in-law Joann Fraley. Betty was very involved in St. Augustine's Parish life, and enjoyed baking, gardening, and watching wildlife in her backyard. Spending time with family was her #1 enjoyment and she was an excellent cook. Many happy times were enjoyed in northern Michigan watching sunsets on Lake Michigan with her family.
Visitation will be 2:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 68035 Main St, Richmond, MI 48062.
